ISSUE: 133701: NSIPS ACCOUNT LOGIN INFORMATION A. NSIPS HAS BEEN DIRECTED TO IMPLEMENT 30 DAY ACCOUNT EXPIRATION BY FLTCYBERCOM. ALL NSIPS USERS, INCLUDING ESR SELF SERVICE ACCOUNTS, ARE NOW SUBJECT TO ACCOUNT EXPIRATION AND ACCOUNT LOCK AFTER 30 DAYS OF INACTIVITY. THE NSIPS PROGRAM OFFICE AND THE NSIPS TIER II HELP DESK ARE WORKING TO ASSIST USERS WHO ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY IN RESTORING ACCOUNTS. THE FOLLOWING ARE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RESET YOUR LOG-IN ACCOUNT: (1) SELF-SERVICE USERS. YOU ARE USUALLY ABLE TO RESET PASSWORDS BUT NSIPS HAD TO IMPLEMENT SECURITY CHANGES BASED ON DIRECTION FROM FLEET CYBER COMMAND. THE RESET FUNCTIONALITY IS CURRENTLY IN TEST AND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED IN THE NEAR FUTURE. FOR NOW, YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL THE HELP DESK. (2) PERSPAY ROLES (CLERK & SUPERVISOR). THE NAMS AND FAMS CAN UNLOCK ACCOUNTS FOR THE PERSPAY ROLES. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CALL THE HELP DESK AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO REQUEST ACCOUNT RESET/UNLOCK WITH YOUR FAM/NAM. (3) FAM/NAM ROLES. IN ORDER TO RESET/UNLOCK THESE ROLES YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION/VALIDATION FROM YOUR LOCAL IAM BEFORE ACCOUNTS WILL BE RESET/UNLOCKED. 3. WHEN YOU LOG ONTO NSIPS USING YOUR CAC, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PUT IN A PASSWORD. DO YOU STILL HAVE TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD EVERY 30 DAYS IF YOUR PASSWORD IS NOT USED? NO. NSIPS ACCESS/LOGON IS ONLY VIA CAC. WHEN YOU SIGN ON WITH YOUR CAC THAT IS THE SAME AS SIGNING ON WITH A PASSWORD. THE ISSUE IS THAT SOME USERS HAVE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS WITHIN NSIPS AND THEY HAVE TO SIGN ON TO EACH ACCOUNT/ROLE WITHIN 30 DAYS OR THE ACCOUNT/ROLE WILL BE LOCKED. EXAMPLE: I HAVE A CLERK ROLE AND A SELF-SERVICE ACCOUNT IN NSIPS. I USE MY CLERK ACCOUNT EVERY DAY BUT RARELY USE MY SELF-SERVICE ACCOUNT WHICH MAY BE EVERY 60 DAYS OR SO. THE CLERK ROLE WILL REMAIN ACTIVE BUT THE SELF-SERVICE ROLE WILL BE LOCKED AFTER 30 DAYS OF NON USE. A. THE BEST WAY TO GET A SUPPORT REQUEST TICKET INTO THE SYSTEM IS TO NAVIGATE TO THE NSIPS HELP DESK WEBSITE TO SUBMIT HELP REQUESTS. YOU MAY SUBMIT A SERVICE REQUEST TO THE NSIPS HELP DESK ON LINE AT: HTTPS://GDSCNOLA.SSCNO.NMCI.NAVY.MIL/. WHEN THIS WEB PAGE OPENS, CLICK ON "SSC LANT NEW ORLEANS OFFICE HELP DESK" AND CHOOSE "SUBMIT OR UPDATE YOUR SERVICE REQUEST ONLINE." THEY WILL WORK YOUR REQUEST AS TIME AND RESOURCES PERMIT.
